At present, the common mould steel includes pre hardened primer type plastic mould steel, nitriding type plastic mould steel and aging hard primer type plastic mould steel.




The quality of plastic mold depends on the raw materials used. Plastic mold is an indispensable special tool for molding processing, and its proportion in the total mold production is gradually increasing. According to the survey, plastic mold accounts for about 33% of the total output of molding mold. The application of plastic mold is becoming more and more important. The key to endangering the service life of plastic mold is to master: mold structure, mold raw materials, mold processing quality, mold operation status, parts status, etc. It plays a particularly important role in the characteristics of die materials and heat treatment process.

1. The shape of injection mold parts is often very complex and cannot be processed after heat treatment. Therefore, raw materials with good heat resistance should be selected as far as possible. After forming and processing of plastic mold, due to small thermal expansion coefficient, small deformation of heat treatment process, small elastic coefficient of specification caused by temperature difference, stable alloy composition and mold specification, processing can be reduced or stopped, so as to ensure the specification accuracy and surface roughness of plastic mold.




2. Good polishing and polishing characteristics.




High quality injection molding products require a small surface roughness value of the die. For example, the surface roughness value of the female mold of the injection mold is specified as Ra 0.1-0.25, and the electronic optical surface is specified as Ra<0.01 nm. The female mold should be polished to reduce the surface roughness value. For this reason, the stainless steel plate used stipulates that there is less residue of raw materials, the mechanism is fine and uniform, there is no chemical fiber specificity, and there is no black spot or orange peel defect when polishing.




3. Strong surface hardness and wear resistance.




The hardness of the plastic mold is generally below 50-60HRC. The mold after heat treatment should have sufficient surface hardness to ensure that the mold has sufficient bending stiffness. During the work, since the filling and flow of plastic parts have to bear a lot of ground pressure and sliding friction, it is required to maintain the reliability of the precision and specification precision of the mold to ensure that the mold has enough service life. As the composition of stainless steel plate is related to the hardness of the heat treatment process, the higher the wear resistance of the mold, the more conducive the hardness of the mold to its wear resistance.




4. Excellent machining performance and drilling performance.




In addition to EMD processing, the plastic part forming mold also needs to be drilled and miller electromechanical maintenance to a certain extent. In order to prolong the service life of cutting tools, improve the machining performance and reduce the surface roughness, the hardness of steel for plastic mould must be moderate.




Pre hardened bottom plastic mould steel is the hardness required for steel application. This kind of steel has excellent drilling processing performance and can be used for cavity processing immediately. It is generally used for processing many plastic products, such as mirror glass mold, and is applicable to the hardness range of 32~40HRC. Carbon steel mould steel is widely used because of its low price, convenient use and certain physical properties. In addition to plastic mould steel, it also includes other mould steel such as pre hardened plastic mould steel. The mould steel is very diverse.
