Do you really know the mold classification? Below is the net compiled by the mold manufacturer for everyone to popularize science.
1、 Mold classification:
Classification by hardness: soft mold, hard mold (quenching).
Classified by quality level: Level 1, Level 2, Level 3, Level 4
Classification by difficulty: Grade A, Grade B, Grade C, Grade D
Classification according to die size: extra large, medium and small
2、 Definition of hard mold and soft mold:
1. Mold hardness: soft mold, hard mold
1) Soft die: The die steel has been pre hardened and does not need to be quenched, but its hardness is low. HB is below 400 and its service life is less than 500000 times. It has been widely used.
2) Hard die: anneal the die steel, divide the processing into two stages: rough processing and finish processing, and then harden after rough processing. The hardness is higher than HRC48 °. After rough machining, due to hardening treatment, about 0.2 machining allowance shall be reserved. After that, the workpiece will be deformed to prevent the finishing process from meeting the requirements of the workpiece. The production life exceeds 500000 to 1 million times, and small moulds are often used.

Secondary mold quality
1. Mold: Must have 500000 or more mold opening times.
This is the second level and high quality mold. High quality materials and accessories must be used, and there must be a certain standard for mold tolerance (dimensional accuracy). This mold also requires high quality.
2. The requirements for secondary molds are as follows:
(1) Detailed mold design is recommended
(2) The hardness of the die blank must be at least HB280
(3) The die core must be at least hard HRC48, and all lines and accessories must also be heat treated
(4) The temperature control display must be installed in the mold, brother or row according to the feasibility.
(5) Positioning lock must be added on parting line
(6) The following requirements will be subject to individual requirements and quotations
Third level mold quality
1. Mold: The mold opening time must be able to reach 250000 or more. This is the requirement for general molds, and the production is also the mold for intermediate production.
2. Requirements for three-stage molds are as follows:
(1) Recommended mold design
(2) Die hardness shall be at least HB165
(3) Die core must be at least HB280
(4) In addition to the above three basic requirements, other requirements are considered as optional additional requirements
Grade IV mold quality
1. Mold: It takes about 10000 times of beer. This is a low production mold. There are usually no special requirements, but the mold quality still needs to be good and recognized by customers.
2. The requirements for the fourth level mold are as follows
(1) Recommended mold design
(2) Die blanks can be ordinary copper or aluminum
(3) The mold can be made of aluminum or steel, which requires the consent of the customer
(4) In addition to the above three basic requirements, other requirements are considered as optional additional requirements
4、 Mold difficulty: Grade A, Grade B, Grade C, Grade D
Class A: Mold with complex structure, such as multi row and multi top parting, core drawing and rotary core drawing.
Level B: The mold structure with two to three parting pieces and core pulling at the top of multi row (two to four) inclined is more complex.
Class C: Simple injection mold with small nozzle, one or two molds with general structure (such as inclined position and top tilt).
Class D: large nozzle mold, two plate mold, simple mold, no line and no tilt at the top.
5. Mold size: extra large, medium, small
Extra large: the mold width is 800mm or more.
Large: the mold width is 600~800mm (excluding 800).
Medium: The mold width is between 350 and 600 (excluding 600).
Small: mold width is less than 350.
