Moulds (m ú j ù) are various molds and tools used in industrial production to obtain required products by injection molding, blow molding, extrusion, die casting or forging, smelting, stamping and other methods.

In short, a mold is a tool used to make molded articles. This tool is composed of various parts. Different molds are composed of different parts. It mainly realizes the processing of article shape by changing the physical state of the formed materials. It is known as the "Mother of Industry".

A tool used to make a blank into a workpiece with a specific shape and size under the action of an external force. It is widely used in blanking, die forging, cold heading, extrusion, powder metallurgy parts pressing, pressure casting, and plastic or injection molding of engineering plastics, rubber, ceramics and other products. The die has a specific contour or cavity shape, and the blank can be separated according to the contour shape (blanking) by applying the contour shape with a cutting edge. The corresponding solid shape can be obtained by using the inner cavity shape.

The die generally includes moving die and fixed die (or male die and female die), which can be divided and combined. Take out the parts when they are separated, and inject the blanks into the mold cavity when they are closed. The mold is a precision tool with complex shape, which bears the expansion force of the blank. It has high requirements for structural strength, stiffness, surface hardness, surface roughness and machining accuracy. The development level of the mold manufacturer's production is one of the important signs of the level of machinery manufacturing.
